SUGARLESS CAKE 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 c. white syrup
3/4 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cream butter, add the syrup; add egg yolks, beat after each. Add the flour and milk alternately in small amounts. Beat well, add vanilla. Bake in layer or loaves. NOTE: This is a WW II cake when sugar was rationed.
