HEAVENLY SPAGHETTI SAUCE | |
1 lb. ground chuck 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 lg. crushed garlic clove 2 tbsp. minced parsley 3 1/2 c. (1 lb. 12 oz. can) pear shaped tomatoes 2 c. water 1 lg. bay leaf 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. basil 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. sugar 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. Accent (MSG) 1 1/2 c. (12 oz. can) tomato paste Brown chuck with onion in large saucepan. Add garlic and parsley; saute for 1 minute; add tomatoes, paste, water, seasonings and Accent (monosodium glutamate). Stir to break tomatoes. Simmer uncovered 1 hour, stir occasionally. Remove bay leaf. While cooking the sauce, you may add 1/4 cup diced green peppers and fresh or canned mushrooms. This is optional. Serve on pasta. Serves 6 to 8. Sauce freezes well. |
