COTTAGE CHEESE WHOLE WHEAT BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. water 1 c. cottage cheese 1/2 c. honey 1/4 c. butter 5 1/2 to 6 c. flour 1 c. whole wheat flour 2 tbsp. sugar 3 tsp. salt 2 pkg. yeast 1 egg Heat first 4 ingredients until 120-130 degrees. Blend warm liquid with 2 cups flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, salt, yeast, and egg until moistened. Stir in remaining flour to form stiff dough. Knead about 2 minutes. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise for 1 hour. Prepare 2 loaf pans. Divide dough into 2 loaves and place in pans. Let rise 45-60 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 40- 50 minutes. (I like to use 2 cups whole wheat flour and only 4 1/2 to 5 cups white flour.) |
