GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. shortening (1 1/2 sticks butter)
1 c. sugar
1 egg

Cream these first 3 ingredients.

Add:

1/4 c. molasses
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger

Mix all together.

Roll into walnut size balls, then roll in sugar. Depending on whether you use these for the holidays or not you can roll them in red or green sprinkles. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes, depending on your oven. Remember they will harden, so you can either SNAP or DUNK them with coffee!! Approximately 5 dozen.
