GINGER SNAP COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. lard or butter
2 eggs
1/3 c. sour milk
1 heaping tsp. baking soda in 2 tbsp. hot water
1 c. dark molasses
1 scant tsp. salt
1 tsp. each nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and 3/4 tsp. allspice
Flour to roll

Mix sugar, eggs and lard to a fluffy mixture. Add soda, water, milk and molasses. Sift spices and salt with enough flour to make a soft dough. Chill dough overnight. Roll paper thin on floured surface. Sprinkle with sugar. Cut and bake in 350 degree oven.
