SANDY'S MOST DIVINE EASY GLAZED DOUGHNUTS | |
This was an experiment that turned out really well, better than Krispy Kreme! I think you can always make other flavored glazes if you prefer or fry the doughnuts whole and fill them with jelly or creme. 1 can refrigerator butter grands style biscuits (I used Walmarts brand) oil for frying (vegetable oil works best) doughnut hole cutter GLAZE: 2 cups confectioners' sugar 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp. vanilla Mix glaze ingredients til smooth, set aside. Separate biscuits, cut a hole in each (do not discard). Heat oil deep enough for doughnuts to float. Allow oil to reach frying temperature. Fry each doughnut about 60 seconds, turn and fry another 60 seconds, or to your preferred brownness. Drain well on paper towels. Doughnut holes will take less time to fry. When doughnuts are cool enough to touch dip both sides in glaze and drain on plate or wire rack. Let glaze set til it's crusty and then serve, preferably warm. Note: These will keep in a plastic bag but the glaze gets sticky so I would suggest eating them all up!!! Submitted by: Sandy Blue |
