GINGER SNAP COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
2 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves

Mix as listed. Roll dough into small balls the size of marbles. Roll balls in granulated sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Yield: 5 dozen.
