I tried this recipe just because it looked easy and I had everything I needed in the house already. It was amazing! One of my family's new favorites.

The only changes I made to this recipe is I floured, pound, and browned the meat on each side before putting in crockpot. I also added a can of mushrooms. This is very yummy recipe!

After reading the comments, I pounded, floured and browned four steaks (adding a little salt and pepper). Laid them in the crock pot and added one package of Beefy Onion soup mix, two cans of cream of mushroom soup, and a can of half water/half beef broth. Cooked on Low for about 6 hours and the house smelled wonderful. I cut up the steak (it was so tender I used a fork) and spooned the thick gravy and steak bites over rice. My family LOVED it and my picky eater ate two helpings. Thanks for the recipe!!

I pound the meat then brown it in flour. Used canned tomato soup, french onion soup packet and 1 can of cream of mushroom soup. Added one onion chopped and one green pepper chopped. Small dash of Worcestershire, couple shakes of Old Bay. Wonderful!

To "Swiss" is to tenderize with tomatoes or tomato juice.

Like John - I added chopped onion & green pepper - a clove of minced garlic and couple shakes of Worcestershire. This is excellent - quick and so tasty.
