SAUERKRAUT CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
3 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
2/3 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sauerkraut, drained

Sift flour, baking powder and soda; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs. Mix well. Add vanilla, salt and cocoa and mix well. Add flour mixture to sugar and shortening mixture with water. Add kraut.

Bake 375 degrees for 45 minutes in a greased and floured 9x13 pan.
