GRANDMA COUCH'S CHOCOLATE FUDGE
FROSTING
 
3 squares block chocolate, grated
2 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
4 tbsp. Crisco, butter flavored preferred
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. white Karo syrup
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan and cook over medium heat until it boils. Cook approximately 10 minutes, stirring constantly. When it makes a firm ball when dropped in cold water, remove from heat. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and beat until smooth and creamy.
