MY GRANDMOTHER'S BUTTERSCOTCH
COOKIES
 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nut meats
3 1/2 c. flour

Cream the first 4 ingredients together. Sift salt, soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon and flour together. Add to first mixture. Add vanilla and nuts. Mix into a loaf, let stand overnight in refrigerator. Bake in morning. Cut in slices. Bake at 350 degrees.
