SPANISH RICE | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/4 cup chopped green pepper 1 (15 oz.) can stewed or peeled tomatoes 3/4 cup uncooked long grain rice 1/2 cup chili sauce 1 1/2 cups water 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. salt pepper, to taste bacon bits, for garnish Brown ground beef with onion and green pepper. Drain the grease. Stir in tomatoes, rice, chili sauce and water. Mix in brown sugar, Worcestershire, salt & pepper. Simmer 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with bacon bits before serving. Submitted by: Phyllis Chittum |
