Bake at 350°F for 25 to 35 minutes or until set. Do not overbake. Cool before cutting into squares.

Makes up to 36 bars.

Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies

These were the best bars if you like your bars thicker and fluffier!! I made them for a party and they were a big hit!! I doubled the recipe and baked in a jelly roll pan. Next time I would cut back on the salt, a bit to salty for my taste . This is the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars!

I have been using this same recipe for about 2 or 3 years now. This is my emergency snack, guests coming, potluck, last minute gift cookie bar.

I choose to make these over other recipes because I love brown sugar in cookies! Although 2 cups seems like a lot. I have them in the oven. The kids and I can't wait to dig in!! I only wish I had some whipped cream oh hand to balance the sweetness.

I am so amazed when the reviews say the best recipe ever and I try it and find it is not so good. Will stick to the original. Like the buttery flavor. All that brown sugar sticks in my throat. Hubby and grands agree.

Excellent! I use whole wheat pastry flour and cut back the sugar to one cup or sometimes less. I also use coconut oil instead of butter. My family does not notice the substitutions. I use dark chocolate at times, and sometimes mix in peanut butter chips also. Lots of ways to use this recipe. Soft bars like I like them!

I used convection so not sure if that was a factor but these and browned evenly which doesn't always happen with cookie bars. Great taste and texture and they look nice if you are taking somewhere which is always a plus.

I have made these bars probably about twice a month since discovering it in October (it's January). They are so unbelievably easy to make (one bowl? yes please) and I love that you don't have to wait around to do it in batches like cookies. The all brown sugar definitely gives them a different flavor that is awesome and cakey. Does anyone find that a half of a bag of choc chips isn't enough? I definitely start with that and always end up just tossing the other half in : )

So Good! I love it. Can I bake these in cupcake pan instead of a 9" X 13" pan?

I just tried this recipe... i have to say i did not like it at all... I followed directions and ingredients to a tee ..double and triple checked...it was just way too sugary... was like eating a bar of brown sugar... my 18 year old son who absolutely loves home made chocolate chips did not care for it either. I bake a lot and after reading first page of revues I was excited to try it...but was a big let down.. Will not make it again... Sorry

My family loves these! So easy and delicious. The texture is divine. I do double the chocolate chips and sometimes even add nuts. Either way, they always turn out beautifully.

Disappointed in this due to all the positive reviews! I followed the recipe exactly, but it does not have a strong a taste as I'd like, and is a little dry.
