CHEROKEE CASSEROLE 
1 lb. hamburger
3/4 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 (1 lb.) can whole tomatoes, undrained
1 c. minute rice
12 green stuffed olives
4 slices American or Cheddar cheese

Brown hamburger and onion in skillet; add seasonings, soup and tomatoes; bring to a boil. Add minute rice and olives. Simmer 5 minutes. Put in a 1 1/2 quart casserole and cover top with cheese slices. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees until cheese melts. Yield 4-6 servings.
