BREADED PORK CHOPS | |
2 thick pork chops 1 egg 1/4 cup milk 1 cup Ritz crackers (I use whole wheat, but regular works well too) 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 tsp. seasoning salt (Lawry's) salt and pepper, to taste 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or shortening Crush crackers until they resemble bread crumbs. Add the garlic powder, seasoning salt, salt, and pepper. Beat together the egg and milk to make a wash. Put butter in fry pan and meld on medium high heat. Dip pork chops in egg wash, then in the cracker mix. If desired you can repeat the process to have a thicker bread crust. Fry pork chops for 8 to 10 minutes per side watching so as the crust does not burn. Note: Depending on your stove, you might need to turn a minute or two earlier. Makes 2 servings.
