OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
Cream thoroughly:

1 c. shortening
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Add to creamed mixture:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Add:

1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
2 c. quick oatmeal

Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 9-10 minutes.
