THE "VERY BEST" OATMEAL
CHOCOLATE-CHIP COOKIES
 
2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. self-rising flour
5 c. oatmeal
24 oz. chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
1 (8 oz.) Hershey bar, grated
3 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven at 375 degrees. Cream butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend oatmeal in blender or food processor until it becomes fine powder. Add to sugar mixture. Add flour gradually. Mix well. Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar, and nuts. Roll mixture into balls and place on cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes. Yield: 110 cookies.
