For oil, I did a combo of vegetable oil and sesame oil. For the dressing, I added a tablespoon of teriyaki. To add color, I added some shaved carrots.

I add chicken, and some red onion and use sesame seed oil to the dressing.

I make this all the time too. I always use unsalted sunflower seeds and sliced almonds. I use the Ramen noodles and packets but would love to try the hard chow mein noodles but fear they would be too soggy. I guess you could put them in your salad once on your plate.

I used Cashews instead of Almonds or sunflower seeds. Turned out yummy!

Try adding chopped cucumbers..

I have made this for a long time, but always used white wine vinegar. When I am really pressed for time I get the bag of broccoli slaw and shred half a cabbage then mix it all together. Everybody loves it.

Great! My only comment is that 1/2 cup of salad oil is a bit too much -- 1/3 cup makes it less oily. Also, replacing part of the salad oil with toasted sesame oil is delicious!

My favourite recipe! I did it like 100 times! Plus it's so easy.

I added one more bag of noodles and less veggies, and used Maggie Seasoning instead of salt and a wee bit of minced garlic.

Great recipe! I add small broccoli florets and carrots for color and flavor.

I make this all the time, so yummy!! I like to brown the ramen noodles with a little oil that way they don't go soggy when I marinate it overnight.

This is excellent... my mother in law passed this exact recipe to me a few years ago in southeast Iowa! We make it the night before so everything has a chance to marry up and get yummy! I've added in mandarin oranges, it's good with or without =)

I've been making this for years, but slightly differently. I use slivered almonds and sesame seeds and toast them together in a skillet with a little margarine. I also do not use the flavor packet from the Ramen noodles. I'm going to try it with sunflower seeds next time. That sounds good. My family demands I bring this slaw to every get-together.

I've made this for my family many times. Even the in-laws love it. I use the coleslaw pre-prepared bags, cuts down on all the cutting and I also use sliced honey roasted almonds makes it even more yummy.

Delicious! This has become my summer BBQ staple. I added manderine oranges for a little sweetness and substituted sesame seed oil for a nuttier taste.
