CABBAGE SALAD WITH RAMEN NOODLES 
1 lg. head cabbage - chopped
5 green onions, chopped
1/2 sm. carrots, grated
2 pkg. Ramen noodles (broken)
1/2 c. sunflower seeds
1 pkg. slivered almonds
1/2 c. butter

Brown noodles, sunflower seeds, almonds in butter; set aside.

DRESSING
1 c. salad oil
2 tsp. soy sauce
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix until well blended. Add dressing and noodle and nut mix to cabbage 15 to 20 minutes before serving.

I made this salad using a 5 lb. bag of pre-shredded cabbage and increasing all the other ingredients by 2-1/2 times and took it to a potluck. I received rave reviews and numerous people have asked me for the recipe. It was a big hit.

This is a pretty good salad, though, it tastes just as good without adding the butter. Also, I saw a post (Asian ramen cabbage salad recipe) where they suggested using cranberries and and crispy wontons instead of the seeds and almonds and that was pretty good too!
