BUTTERSCOTCH ICE-BOX COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nut meats

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs, then mix in dry ingredients. Add nuts. Roll into a cylinder and wrap in waxed paper. Chill. Slice 1/4" thick and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
