MERINGUES 
1/2 c. egg whites, room temperature
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. white vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

TOPPING:

Strawberries and whipped cream or whipped cream only

Beat egg whites until dry at high speed, forming high peaks. Add sugar gradually at a low speed, add vinegar and vanilla. Line cookie sheet with brown paper, drop by tablespoon onto paper. Bake in 275 degree oven for 1 hour. Turn off oven, leave meringue in oven to cool and dry completely. Remove from paper. To serve, top with strawberries and whipped cream or top with whipped cream.
