I just used the recipe tonight. I didn't have enough honey so I added a few tbsp. plum sauce and it came out great. Tasted more sweet and sour.

Made this, turned out yummy..... Didn't have honey on hand so I substituted it with 1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar and 1/4 cup water. What a turn out.

I really just needed baking time and temperature. To make mine I used a generic BBQ sauce.

3 tablespoons chopped garlic (from a jar)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup soy sauce
juice from 2 oranges
black pepper
half an onion, sliced
and 6 or so dashes Franks Red Hot sauce.

Makes about 2 cups.

I took half the mix to marinade the chicken in for several hours. then took the chicken out and put in a baking dish and poured the rest on top to bake.

I thought it was good, not great, but everyone else at the party said they loved it. Trying to think of how to tweak it for next time.

I made the sauce as described, poured it into a glass casserole dish, added 7 drumsticks, turned to coat. I took them out every twenty minutes to turn them and poured more sauce over them to coat. I thought it was quite good. My husband suggested crisping the skin under the broiler and I may try that next time.

I have used this recipe time and time again and it is great. I would suggest instead of wings or drumsticks if you buy boneless breasts and cut them about 3/4 inch wide and about 4 inches long. It cooks a lot faster and is great if you want to serve it over rice or vegetables, or possibly using it on a sandwich or wrap. I also suggest you do not throw out any extra sauce (it does not really have anything in it that will spoil [there is ketchup but that takes a while]) use it to drizzle over after it is cooked and browned.

I twisted this recipe a bit by replacing the cup of honey with blue agave sweetener. I also added a cup of ketchup for thickness. I pre-marinated the chicken by rubbing it with diced garlic, salt and pepper. My family loves it :)
