ITALIAN CREAM CHEESE CAKE 
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
5 eggs, separated
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. coconut

Cream butter and Crisco, add sugar, beat. Add beaten egg yolks. Add sifted flour and soda. Beat with buttermilk. Add vanilla, nuts and coconut. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Grease and flour pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix and spread between layers or on top of 9 x 13 inch pan or 3 layer pans.
