SUGAR AND HONEY GLAZED HAM
Baked Ham
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup drippings from ham
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
1 can peach halves
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. honey

Bake a whole ham according to directions in your recipe.

About 45 minutes before the ham is done, remove pan from oven. Remove the drippings from the pan. Cut the rind from the ham, leaving behind the fat. Score the fat diagonally using a sharp knife, about 1/2-3/4 inch deep.

Stir together brown sugar, honey, ham drippings and orange peel to make a glaze. Pour 1/3 of the glaze over the ham. Return pan to oven. Bake for another 45 minutes, basting the ham every 10 minutes with the remaining glaze.

Brown the peach halves in a skillet with honey and butter. Arrange around ham to serve.

Ham can also be decorated with slices of pineapple with cherries in the center for special occasions.

I can hardly wait 4 more days for Thanksgiving. I have all the ingredients for above - also recipe from here "Old School Apple Crisp"... plus the "Smells of Christmas"... I am like a kid just waiting for the day. This HAS to be fantastic... two reasons - all the ingredients sound perfect AND this was submitted by CM... always fantastic recipes.

This recipe was amazing. I made a batch and had it with a ham steak so I knew if it would be good for Easter. I loved it and can't wait for the real thing tomorrow. In response to John, I went ahead and followed the directions for frying the peaches with honey AND butter and they were really good with the ham. I was surprised how well they went together. Try this recipe, you won't forget it!

I fried the peaches with honey as per recipe. What a mistake!! That made a terrible mess and stuck to the frying pan. It did nothing for the peaches but reduce them. Do not fry peaches or anything else with honey. JB.

We loved this glaze! We skipped the peach part and added grapefruit zest as well as the orange and it was amazing. Totally mouth-watering. We will be doing this again :)

Awesome recipe, had everything except the peaches and orange peel, so I didn't use those, but this was absolutely amazing, will definitely be using it on future hams, may do a bit of tweaking with different spices in the future.

Great glaze and easy to do at the last minute. Can substitute bourbon or chicken broth for the ham drippings if there is not enough. I did used pineapple instead of the peaches and everyone loved it.
