4 to 5 lbs. boneless short ribs 2 tbsp. garlic powder 2 tbsp. onion powder 1 bay leaf 1 tbsp. salt 1 tbsp. pepper 1 tbsp. celery salt or celery seed 1 c. soy sauce 1 c. red wine 1 tbsp. brown sugar Parboil ribs in a large pot of water, with garlic, onion, bay leaf, salt, pepper and celery seed for 1/2 hour. Drain. Marinate ribs in soy sauce, wine and brown sugar for 4 hours. Drain and reserve marinade. Place ribs in a shallow baking dish, baste with reserved marinade. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes or put on barbecue over medium heat for 20 minutes on each side, or until browned. Serves 6. |
