BRAN MUFFINS 
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. All-Bran or Bran Buds cereal
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. milk
1 egg
1/3 c. soft shortening or vegetable oil
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar; set aside. Mix cereal and milk in mixing bowl and let stand until soft. Add egg and shortening, beat well. Add dry ingredients and pecans to cereal mixture, stirring only until combined. Bake 25 minutes. Yields: 12 muffins.
