SIMPLE BREAD PUDDING 
1 stick butter
6 slices bread, toasted
2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins
Cinnamon and nutmeg

Melt butter in 6x12 inch pyrex dish, toast bread until brown. Break into rather large pieces in the pyrex dish. Scald milk and add to the eggs which have been beaten with the sugar. Sprinkle the raisins over the bread.

Pour egg and milk mixture over the bread and sprinkle generously with cinnamon and nutmeg. Put dish in a pan of boiling water and bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Insert knife, when it comes out clean, remove from pan. Serve warm or cold. WATCH - dries out quickly.
