OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
5 slices 3 day old bread
1 c. raisins
3 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. sugar

Toast bread lightly, butter generously, then break into pieces about 1/4 inch square. Arrange in a buttered 9x9 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with raisins.

Scald the milk. Stir in sugar and salt. Pour over eggs and blend thoroughly. Pour over bread and stir so bread is completely wet.

Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over top. Set baking dish in pan of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Great with vanilla or rum flavored sauce.
