BANANA & STRAWBERRY SPLIT DESSERT | |
6 tbsp. butter, melted 1/4 c. sugar 5 c. bite-size crispy rice sq. cereal 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1 c. sifted confectioners' sugar 3 ripe med. bananas 2 c. sliced strawberries (about 1 pt.) 8 oz. container whipped topping 1/4 c. chopped nuts Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Butter the bottom of a 3-quart rectangular baking dish. Combine melted butter with 1/4 cup sugar. Crush rice cereal to make about 1 2/3 cups crumbs and blend thoroughly with butter mixture. Press evenly into bottom of pan. Bake 15 minutes. Cool completely. In small bowl with electric mixer, beat softened cream cheese with confectioners' sugar. Spread over crust. Slice bananas and place over filling. Top with sliced strawberries. Spread with whipped topping that has been thawed. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Just before serving, garnish with additional banana and strawberry slices, if desired. Slice into squares. About 15 servings. |
