RHUBARB CAKE | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 2 c. plus 1 tbsp. flour 1 c. sour milk (1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice added to milk to make 1 c.) 1 tsp. baking soda 3 c. rhubarb, cut fine 1/4 c. cinnamon candy sprinkles (opt.) Cream shortening and sugar. Add salt, eggs and flour. Add soda to milk. Add milk and rhubarb and candy. Mix well. Put in 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. TOPPING: 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. chopped nuts 1 tsp. cinnamon |
