Easy White Gravy

Solid recipe, I was actually able to use half the butter and flour mixture and it turned out nicely after adding milk and bringing it to a boil. I also added a sprinkling of garlic and onion powders, plus a couple drops of soy sauce to make it a little richer. Went great with some chicken and toast.

Perfect. Great. Simple. Easy. Just like a restaurant's! I even used a healthy butter substitute (smart balance lite), 1% milk (only 2 cups instead of 2 1/2). DELICIOUS and easy. I also added a pinch of cayenne and a pinch of raw sugar. The organic unbleached flour made it a little more beige than white, but it tasted fantastic! Hard to believe we pay so much to eat out when we can make it at home for pennies!

Great recipe!! The taste is awesome. You can also add a little cooked sausage for added flavor. It works great for breakfast gravy!!

I've made white gravy like this for years. When making biscuits and gravy I substitute sausage pan drippings for the butter. I also use it for a dipping sauce for chicken tenders, and either make it as shown here, or using pan drippings from fried chicken. My family loves it and it is always a favorite request when we have those family get-togethers!

If 5 stars is the best then thats what I'm saying it is. I cooked this up as I was reading it and had it hot on the table in a flash and WOW it was fabulous. The entire family was so surprised and happy. Loved it and thank you soooo much for being there when I needed you. Rich and creamy and plenty for all.

Easy. Simple. Fast. Delicious. Really nothing more to say. Neglected it a little while instead of constantly stirring but didn't seem to bother it a bit. Made it with biscuits and sausage and it was awesome! Herbs go well in it if you like. Like rosemary and thyme but seriously a simple and easy recipe. Added green chili for a kick. Thank you for posting. Cheers to never buying crap packets of chemicals from the store again!

This is the easiest recipe for white gravy that I have found and it came out great. Make sure you constantly stir so it does not burn at the bottom.
