This is the BASIC Besamel Sauce. Instead of butter, fry some breakfast sasuage and mix the flour into it an cook until flour is a light golden brown. Then mix the milk into it, stiring offten. Great biscuits and gravy.

I was totally skeptical because I've wasted ingredients on gravy that didn't turn out numerous times before. It took a good amount of time for it to get to a boil, but after the last minute was up, I was very pleased with the results. Key to my success? Following the recipe, making certain the pepper was enough to be evenly distributed amongst the flour and butter mixture, and tasting it before it got to a boil to add more salt if needed. Thanks for a great gravy experience (finally)!

This is a good recipe but to get it to boil I had to turn it on high heat. The results will be a bit chunky. I suggest not adding the salt and pepper until afterwords.

OMG!!!! I love this recipe!!! It was so easy to make I have never made gravy before I always just bought it at the store. My husband loves biscuits and gravy so I decided to try to make him a surprise breakfast of his favorite thing. He was really impressed!!! thank you so much for posting the recipe!!! I used a little bit of stake seasoning to make it taste like sausage gravy. I will say at first I thought I messed it up and it wasn't going to turn out so I just kept stirring and the next thing I know I had gravy!!! I can not say thank you enough!!!

Thanks so much for this recipe!! I, like so many others have been completely unsuccessful with gravy, but this came out great! I only gave four stars, cause I did add garlic powder, and a little Italian seasoning for richer flavor, oh also sauteed mushrooms, so basically turned it into mushroom gravy YUMMMMMY!!! :0)
