SAM LOM'S PEANUT BRITTLE | |
2 c. sugar 1/3 c. water 2/3 c. white syrup 2 c. raw peanuts 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt Candy thermometer Mix sugar, water, syrup in saucepan. Cook over high flame until mixture comes to rolling boil. Add raw peanuts and cook to 280 degrees. Remove from heat and add soda and salt. Stir until mixture turns slightly brown (about 1 minute). Pour mixture on 2 well buttered cookie sheets. Use forks to stretch until it cools enough to use your hands. When candy becomes brittle break and store in plastic bag. It is best if you can talk your husband into making this. |
