FRENCH TOAST | |
8 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 c. half and half 3/4 c. plus 1 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 8 slices French bread, 3/4 inch thick 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. maple syrup 3/4 c. pecans, chopped Combine eggs, half and half, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and vanilla. Pour 1/2 of this mixture in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Place bread on top. Pour remaining mixture over bread. Refrigerate overnight. In another 13 x 9 inch pan, melt butter, add remaining brown sugar, syrup and nuts. Place soaked bread on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, until bread is puffed and brown. |
