CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. milk

Let butter and eggs come to room temperature, 2 hours. Cream butter and Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa together. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Always begin and end with flour. Add vanilla. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool in non-drafty area for 10 minutes before turning out of pan.
