RED BEANS AND RICE | |
1 lb. sausage, ground, round or both 8 oz. can tomato sauce 2 (16 oz.) cans Van Camps New Orleans style red beans, do not drain 1/2 bell pepper, chopped 1 sm. onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, chopped 1 bay leaf Salt and pepper to taste If round sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces. In skillet, cook sausage, pepper, onion and garlic until meat is done and peppers soft. Add tomato sauce and 1 can of water, beans and bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste in boiler. Bring to boil and simmer 45 minutes. Serve over hot rice, 2 cups of real rice. |
