FLAKEY BISCUITS 
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2/3 c. milk
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sugar

Sift dry ingredients, cut in shortening, add milk, pat or roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 400 degree oven. Handle as little as possible to keep flaky and light. Makes 9 good size rolls.
