JUDY'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 cup shortening or butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Mix shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla. Then add flour, baking soda, salt and chips. Form into balls, dip in sugar or any sprinkles of your choice. Press down with cup or spoon.

Bake at 375°F for 10-12. Watch them. Some batches bake faster than others.

Very good cookies. I would recommend turning the temp down to 350°F though! note: They are hard to stir if working with your hands. But, they were really good when finished.

Very good recipe. I needed a cookie recipe that only took 1 egg and this one was very tasty. I cooked it at 350°F as another person noted, and they turned out perfect at 12 minutes. The only thing I would do differently is add a lot more chocolate chips. I was worried I was only making a small batch, so I only used the amount listed but next time I will use the whole bag of chips. My husband really likes these cookies!
