MICROWAVE CARAMEL POPCORN
1 batch of popped corn
1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. salt (opt.)
1/4 c. white corn syrup
1 tsp. baking soda

Pop corn and set aside. Melt butter, sugar, salt and syrup in microwave to boiling (remember to put in a deep bowl). Boil for two minutes or more on high power. Remove from microwave and add baking soda, stir well (it will get very foamy). Pour over popped corn, covering well. Put popcorn into a brown grocery bag and roll up tightly. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from microwave, unroll and shake it up very well. Roll it up again and microwave on high for an additional 1 1/2 minutes. Spread on waxed paper or cookie sheet to cool. Store in a covered container.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
