1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 1/2 c. applesauce
3/4 c. nuts
3/4 c. raisins
3/4 c. dates
2 c. flour + 2 tbsp.
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice

Cream shortening. Add sugar and eggs. Sift together the dry ingredients. Add to first mixture. Add applesauce, nuts, raisins and dates last. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour. Good baked in an angel food cake pan.
