MARIE'S APPLE KUCHEN 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. flaked coconut or nuts
1 (20 oz.) can pie sliced apples or 2 1/2 c. sliced pared baking apples
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. (1 lb. container) sour cream
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cut butter into cake mix (dry) until crumbly. Mix in coconut or nuts. Pat mixture lightly into ungreased 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan, building up slight edges. Bake 10 minutes. Arrange apple slices on warm crust. Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle on apples. Blend sour cream, eggs, and vanilla; pour over apples. Bake 35 minutes or until edges are light brown.
