GERMAN APPLE CAKE (KUCHEN) 
1 pt. cottage cheese
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
8 to 10 apples, sliced, unpeeled
Sugar and cinnamon to taste

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Add butter, egg and vanilla, mix well with fork or spoon; roll out on floured board, using very little flour. Line bottom and sides of well-greased 9x12 inch pan with dough.

Mix some sugar, cottage cheese, cinnamon and cream or butter together. Line some sliced apples on top with balance of cheese mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Serves 6.
