MOLASSES DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. molasses
3 sqs. unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 eggs
1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sour milk

Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually. Add soda, salt, and vanilla. Mix in molasses and melted chocolate. Beat in eggs. Blend in flour alternately with sour milk. Pour into 2 well greased and floured 8 inch layer cake pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 24 minutes. Cool. Ice, if desired.
