MOLASSES CAKE 
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. of each spice
2 eggs

Put baking soda in boiling water, add molasses and mix in the rest of ingredients. Bake at 350°F or until done. Beat eggs before you add them.

CARAMEL ICING:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sweet milk
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Cook butter and brown sugar 2 minutes. Add sweet milk, cook 2 minutes; cool. Add powdered sugar; beat.
