CHOCOLATE CARAMEL CAKE 
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chocolate chips

Mix cake according to package directions. Pour 1/2 batter in greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. While cake baking, unwrap caramels. Melt in microwave along with butter and evaporated milk. Pour over hot cake, along with pecans, chocolate chips and rest of batter. Bake 20 to 25 minutes more. Cool and then refrigerate.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
