DIRTY JOHN'S HOTDOG SAUCE | |
This isn't the "real" New Way Lunch recipe, but it's as close as I can get... and it does the job when my family and I are craving dirts but can't make it to Glens Falls. 1 lb. ground beef 1 medium onion, minced 4 to 6 cloves garlic, minced 3 cups water 4 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. ground cumin 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. mustard 1 1/2 tsp. FRANK'S® RedHot hot sauce 2 tsp. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. celery salt 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper 2 fl. oz. Kitchen Bouquet 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. clove 1/4 tsp. curry 1/4 tsp. cinnamon salt and pepper, to taste Mince onion and garlic in a food processor; combine with beef and cook in a large frying pan. When meat is browned, place the mixture in a food processor until it's finely chopped. Combine the meat mixture and the remaining ingredients in a Crock-Pot; mix well and let it heat on LOW for 2 to 3 hours. Serve hot over hotdogs with onion and mustard. Enjoy! Submitted by: Devan G. |
