CHOCOLATE CARAMEL CAKE 
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 pkg. caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 stick butter
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix cake as directed on box. Pour 1/2 of mixture into greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Melt caramels, milk and butter. Pour this over baked cake. Sprinkle on chocolate chips and nuts.

Pour remainder of cake batter on top and bake 250 for 20 minutes. Turn oven to 350 and bake 15 minutes longer. Frost with favorite chocolate frosting or Cool Whip.
