3 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking power
3 c. plain flour
6 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Mix all together until smooth. Pour in a well-greased and floured tube pan.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Be sure to put cake in oven before turning oven on. Remove from pan as soon as you take it out of the oven. Go around edges with spatula to loosen from pan.
