EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

I needed something easy but wonderful for a big dinner with the in-laws and this hit the spot perfectly! What a great recipe...we're making it again tonight to dip the bread in. Our kids love it too! Thank you!

I loved this recipe! It is so simple and easy. Instead of half and half I used 1 tbsp of butter then enough milk to make it 1 cup and it still tasted great!

The recipe was great. Simple, cheap and not sacrifice to taste. I found no trouble in melting down the cream cheese as another complained. I did however forget the half and half and it came out good luckily. Highly recommended.

This is really good. I use to use another recipe that was also very easy, but it used white wine and sometimes I didn't have any. I usually always have these ingrediets on hand and therefore I make all the time now. I love it's richness. Thanks for posting.

is it ok if i dont used half and half what would be my alternative ?

Hi Mayra,

You can use half cream and half milk. Otherwise, 100% milk or light cream. You might also try canned (evaporated) milk.

DELICIOUS! My extra-picky 11 yr old devoured it, asked for seconds, and even ate leftovers the next day. She NEVER EVER eats leftovers. I will be making this once a week from now on. It was so easy! PS...I used quite a bit of fresh garlic.

I love this recipe. Works well if you use heavy whipping cream instead of half and half. I also started using Philadelphia cream cheese with chives. it is delicious! oh- and for the cheese, i use the 3 cheese italian. My boyfriend loves it :) (actually - everyone that has tried it loves it)

My niece was crazing Alfredo pasta so I found this recipe it was great and the whole family loved it I also made chicken n shrimp to go with it...Oh and it was very easy to make the only thing is I would double the recipe next time because there wasn't enough sauce so make sure you double the recipe and that's for 1 pound of pasta
