KENTUCKY COUNTRY HAM | |
1 country ham, bone in 1/2 c. whole cloves 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. vinegar 1 1/2 gallons water Scrub ham and soak in water overnight. When ready to bake, remove from water. sprinkle some of the cloves in the bottom of a roaster. Add about 1" of water. Put remaining ingredients around ham. Sprinkle the rest of the cloves on top of the ham. Bake for 1 hour at 375 degrees, then turn down to 275 degrees and bake for 20 minutes per pound. Remove and bone if desired. Mix: 1 c. cornmeal 1 tbsp. cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon Sprinkle ham with mixture and brown in oven until brown at 375 degrees. |
